CHESTS :
Introduced by the Greeks in 3rd Century BC. They were used for storing jewelry, clothes, food and stocks of grain. They were essential part of bridal dowry. They were lavishly carved with relief decoration, leaf scroll, floral patterns and at times with animal representation. If looked through the eyes of a experienced an archaeologist noticeable survival of ancient classical traditions can be traced.
